Wednesday, October 10:

My trip started out normally, boarding Jet Blue flight #124 to JFK leaving MSY at 7:00am...... approximately 7:15am pilot announces a possible problem... have to wait for mechanic to review..... 7:30am- problem is now with the plane hydraulics and all passengers will have to get off the plane.  The part that the mechanic needs is located in New York so we will have to wait until it arrives in New Orleans.... best guess at this point is 3:30pm, an 8.5 hour delay.  Around 8:30am, the gate agent announces that another flight from JFK is bringing the necessary part and it is due to arrive at 11:00am....woo hoo.... they hope that we will be able to reboard the plane and be in the air by noon.  Thankfully, this is what happened and I was on my way to JFK by 12:05pm, arriving approximately 4:30pm.

I took the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and then E train to my hotel exit, 42nd St/Port Authority finally arriving at hotel - Travel Inn on 42nd St approximately 6:00pm.  Hotel was fine... decent size and clean....

After finally arriving at hotel, dinner was the first order of business.  My sister and I ate at HELL'S KITCHEN - Progressive Mexican Cuisine on 9th Avenue.

The Roasted Chicken Quesadillas and the Poached Artichoke & Idiazabal Cheese Quesadillas were very good and so was the Pineapple margarita.

This restaurant was very good.  I would definitely return or recommend it.

After dinner, we walked to Serendipity 3 on E60th St for dessert. My sister was interested in this place since it was featured in the movie Serendipity with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.  It turned out to be very small, however the dessert (Strawberry Shortcake) was very good.   We arrived around 8:30pm and had to wait approximately 35 minutes to be seated.
